EXTREMELY FINE. A GORGEOUS MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1884 3-CENT RED BROWN POSTAGE DUE ISSUE. SCARCE WITH SUCH WIDE MARGINS AND IN SUCH PRISTINE CONDITION -- THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE WE HAVE EVER OFFERED SINCE KEEPING COMPUTERIZED RECORDS.
The other Mint N.H. example we offered was offered in the Silver Lake collection (Sale 866) where it realized $8,500 hammer. The margins on this stamp are significantly larger.
