With 2004 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, Superb 98; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $6,650.00 as 98). This is the only $5.00 1902 Issue to have achieved this grade in any condition category (Mint N.H., hinged or used). The highest grade for a Mint N.H. example is XF 90.

Population Report, with just three graded higher (two 98, one 98J). No Mint N.H. example has graded higher than 90, so collectors who demand superb centering would be well advised to consider this gem

With 2001 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF-Superb 95; SMQ $6,000.00). This is an exceedingly difficult stamp to find in the higher grades -- the highest grade for Mint N.H. is a 90, the highest grade for a used copy is a 95 (one) and only four hinged copies have graded higher than a 95.
