Price History for US Scott 119 in OG 90 Grade
Show Grade on Graph
Three things to keep in mind when looking at the above results (unsolds are not included):
- It is important to look at the individual data points listed below. Price swings up may be due to varieties such as broken hat or other positives such as cancels. Price swings down may be due to factors such as faults on items that would have graded higher if they were sound, and may not be considered as desirable as a sound copy in this grade.
- When looking at multiple grades on the graph, grades with the same population numbers may show overlapping.
- At the time of an auction, the SMQ value has already been published and is available to bidders. Increases or decreases in SMQ value prior to the auction may affect the price realized.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT TYPE II 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE WITH WONDERFUL COLOR, CENTERING AND OVERALL FRESHNESS. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS ISSUE TO OBTAIN THE GRADE OF 90 FROM P.S.E., WHICH IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED TO DATE.
Even though the supply of Type II stamps is more plentiful than its Type I counterpart, we have found that is at least as difficult (if not more so) to find in such superb condition. This superb stamp has the brilliance of its re-issue counterpart, Scott 129, which is rarely encountered in stamps from the 1869 Type II printing.
With 1999 P.F. certificate. With 2004 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $8,050.00)
