Price History for US Scott 11 in Used 100J Grade
Show Grade on Graph
Show all gradesThree things to keep in mind when looking at the above results (unsolds are not included):
- It is important to look at the individual data points listed below. Price swings up may be due to varieties such as broken hat or other positives such as cancels. Price swings down may be due to factors such as faults on items that would have graded higher if they were sound, and may not be considered as desirable as a sound copy in this grade.
- When looking at multiple grades on the graph, grades with the same population numbers may show overlapping.
- At the time of an auction, the SMQ value has already been published and is available to bidders. Increases or decreases in SMQ value prior to the auction may affect the price realized.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1851 ISSUE IN THE CLARET SHADE. ONE OF ONLY FIVE EXAMPLES TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT GRADE OF GEM 100 JUMBO BY THE P.S.E.
With 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 100, SMQ $1,000.00 as 100 in the Dull Red shade). This is the highest grade possible on the grading chart and this is likely the only in the Claret shade to achieve it.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM AND THE ESSENCE OF PERFECTION. THIS IS ONE OF ONLY FOUR EXAMPLES OF THE 3-CENT 1851 ISSUE TO ACHIEVE THE P.S.E. GRADE OF GEM 100 JUMBO.
Many collectors have a tendency to discount how difficult it is to find imperforate classics in such superb condition. The assumption is that there are multiples which can be split to "make" perfect singles. However, one would need a lightly-cancelled block of nine, with no wrinkles or other minor defects, to produce a single such as the one offered here.
Ex Tahoe. 1997 P.F. certificate no longer accompanies. With 2008 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; SMQ $450.00 as 98, unpriced in the higher grades). Only one other example of No. 11 and two of No. 11A have achieved this perfect grade

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS GORGEOUS STAMP HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GRADE OF GEM 100 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- ONLY THREE EXAMPLES HAVE ACHIEVED THIS GRADE TO DATE, AND THIS IS LIKELY THE ONLY ONE IN THE MORE DESIRABLE DEEP CLARET SHADE.
With 2008 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $970.00 as 98 in the Claret shade).

EXTREMELY FINE GEM AND THE ESSENCE OF PERFECTION. THIS IS ONE OF ONLY TWO EXAMPLES OF THE 3-CENT 1851 ISSUE TO ACHIEVE THE P.S.E. GRADE OF GEM 100 JUMBO.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN INCREDIBLY RARE SOUND, MINT NEVER-HINGED BLOCK OF THE 3-CENT 1851 TYPE I IN THE BROWNISH CARMINE SHADE. A SPECTACULAR SHOWPIECE.
A Power Search review found one irregular block of five that is never-hinged but with small gum disturbance spots. It is also cut into in several places. Other than that block we have sold no Mint N.H. blocks of Types I or II since keeping computerized records.
With 2011 P.F. and P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; blocks unpriced in SMQ). Scott Retail of $2,100.00 for a hinged block of four does not remotely convey the rarity of this Mint N.H. block.
