Assemblage of 62 items mounted and informatively described on exhibit pages, items representing each of the values - 60c Blue, 80c Green, 1r Vermilion, and 60c Blue, Type II (Redrawn Type), including 18 die proofs (most signed by Sperati and with "Reproduction Interdite" handstamp), several multiples such as Hoffmann Type F (one of two known reproductions with 60c Diligencia and 120c First Issue in se-tenant tête-bêche pairs), plus numerous singles both "unused" and with fake cancels

More than 80 covers either in sleeves, dealer/auction lot cards, mounted on pages, or exhibit pages, impressive range of uses, both incoming and outgoing mail related to Uruguay, including many stampless with "MONTEVo" and "Montevideo" straightline strikes, Sept. 1825 Official mail with Declaration of Independence transcription (independence from Brazil), Uruguayan Civil War period covers including blockade of Montevideo, consular mail covers, various transatlantic destination mail including the United States and throughout Europe, among much more, we notice various scarce markings, mostly Fine-Very Fine, a lot worthy of close inspection to ascertain the accurate value of such a historically important postal history lot
