VERY FINE STRIKE AND ONE OF THE FINEST OF THE EIGHT RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THE HIOGO "D30" TREATY PORT CANCEL ON THE HONG KONG 2-CENT BROWN.

The informative article written by Neill Granger & Andrew Cheung in the HKSC lists seven examples of this strike on the 2c, not including the example offered here.

Horizontal pair with wide gutter and wavy dividing line, Positions 10-11, watermark reversed, margins to just touching outer frameline at places, two crisp strikes of barred "124" cancels of Aden, exceptionally strong colors, small scissor cut at top of left stamp (just into frame)

FINE. A RARE PAIR OF THE 1854 4-ANNAS FROM THE SECOND PRINTING USED IN ADEN.
