Handwritten letter on "The Residency, Cairo" stationery and datelined Jan. 22, 1925, letter signed "Allenby F.M." at bottom of letter to well-wisher, Very Fine, Allenby (1861-1936) was a senior British Army officer who fought in the Second Boer War and WWI, at the time of this letter, he was High Commissioner of Egypt, a post he held until shortly after this letter was written in May 1925, from the Magnolia collection
