CANADA, The Lanza Balance of Mint Never-Hinged Canada. Through 1952 in a Lindner hingeless album, pages are complete, though the earliest stamp present is the -1/2c Small Queen, since all of the stamps from the previous issues qualified as individual lots, there is a smattering of late 19th and early 20th Century stamps, one of the best areas is the Admiral coils stamps, which were collected in both singles and pairs, complete from Scott No. 235 to 320 (coils collected both as singles and pairs), solid Back-of-Book, the extremely high quality cannot be overstated, as Mr. Lanza was one of the most fastidious collectors we have ever encountered, insisting on only stamps with choice centering, large margins, brilliant colors, and unblemished original gum that is never hinged, he would constantly upgrade his stamps, pouring through auction catalogues and dealer's stocks to improve the quality of his collection, he would upgrade to a stamp that was just marginally better than the one he had, and sell off his "seconds", in fact he bought the balance of Dr. Chris Killien's Canada (Siegel Sale 1114, lot 195), and Dr. Killien was an equally demanding collector, though we notice Mr. Lanza even improved upon some of Dr. Killien's gem stamps, uniformly Mint N.H., Extremely Fine, 22 certificates accompany, among them seven P.F. certificates with high numeric grades, the perfect lot for someone desiring to start collecting Canada in only the finest quality, or for a current collector to upgrade the quality of their collection, Scott in excess of $13,000.00
