VERY FINE. THE FINEST ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1859 6-PENCE BROWN VIOLET OUR FIRM HAS EVER OFFERED. AN IMPORTANT RARITY OF THE PERFORATED PENCE ISSUE
A review of Power Search shows ten different copies of No. 13 with part or full original gum (including a pair offered in our 1981 Rarities sale). Every one of them, with the exception of the stamp offered here, has the perforations cutting the design on at least one side. This stamp easily qualifies as one of the very finest (and maybe the finest) original-gum examples of Scott No. 13.
Unused copies of the 1858-59 Perforated Pence issue are especially challenging to find with original gum. This is demonstrated by the fact the Unitrade adds a 150% premium for the issue, whereas all of the earlier issues only receive 100% premium.
From our 1981 Rarities sale. With 1966 P.F., 2007 P.F. (F 70; "previously hinged"), and 2020 Greene Foundation certificates. Scott $30,000.00. SG £18,000. Unitrade C$87,500.00

VERY FINE. A HANDSOME USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1859 6-PENCE PERF 12. ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT CLASSIC STAMPS OF CANADA TO FIND IN PREMIUM QUALITY.
With 2002 and 2011 Greene Foundation certificates. Scott $7,500.00. SG £5,000. Unitrade C$12,000.00
