EXTREMELY FINE. A SPECTACULAR PLATE NUMBER BLOCK OF 24 OF THE 2-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE WITH FULL IMPRINT AND GUIDE ARROW IN THE SELVAGE -- ONE OF THE BEST CENTERED AMONG THE FEW IN EXISTENCE.

Chapin census no. 321 (illustrated on page 24.) Ex William L. Moody III, John C. Chapin and William H. Gross. With 1957 P.F. certificate. Scott value $67,350.00 as plate block, three blocks and one pair without well-deserved premium for Mint N.H. stamps.

VERY FINE. A RARE SOUND AND ATTRACTIVELY CENTERED ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE WITHOUT GRILL.

Since 1993 we have offered about a dozen singles, plus a rejoined block of four. Most examples of the 2c 1869 Without Grill are significantly off center, with perfs in on one side.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF SIX OF THE 2-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE -- THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE.

We estimate that fewer than ten blocks of the 2c 1869 Re-Issue exist and we record only two blocks of six. This rare block of six was featured in several old Siegel Rarities sales, including 1970, 1976, 1981, 1987 and 1989.
