This watermark was originally intended for use for revenue stamps only. It is unknown how many sheets were issued as they were unknowingly sold along with the normal stock.

VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 1936 20-CENTAVOS MADERO WITH THE "SECRETARIA DE HACIENA" WATERMARK ERROR WHICH IS ONLY KNOWN IN USED CONDITION. APART FROM BEING THE RAREST MEXICAN AIR POST STAMP, IT IS ONE OF THE RAREST AIR POST STAMPS IN THE WORLD. VERY FEW ARE KNOWN.

The watermarked paper used on this stamp was intended for revenue use only. It is unknown how many sheets, even if just one, was used with this watermark as they were issued with the normal stock. Attesting to it's rarity, according to Power Search, this is the first example we have offered since computerized records. We have been able to find very few others offered at public auction in the last ten years.

Accompanied by documents from the original discoverer, his correspondence with Nicolas Sanabria and Henry Goodkind, and articles written about its discovery. With 1954 P.F. certificate (prior to official listing in Scott). Scott $12,500.00. From the Porter W. Venn II Estate

Most copies of this stamp offered are either off-centered and/or have heavy gum disturbance due to wax paper adherence. This stamp is remarkable in that this is one of the finest centered examples and is largely free of the normal gum issues associated with this stamp.
