FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF REUNION NO. 1. ONE OF THE CLASSIC RARITIES OF THE FRENCH COLONIES.

In 1852, 15c and 30c stamps were produced locally to fill a void in the available French Colony stamps. They were produced on very thin pelure paper that often had irregularities such as wood pulp inclusions and pinholes. They were unpopular with the local population due to the fact that they were issued without gum. A small number were used and the remainders eventually destroyed. Virtually all examples have faults to some degree due to the crude printing methods.

With 2017 Scheller certificate. Scott $25,000.00. Yvert €30,000
