Sale 1270, Lot 2734, German Area thru GuatemalaIONIAN ISLANDS, German Occupation, Zante, 1943, 50c Olive Brown Air Post, Double Overprint (NC13 var; Michel 3DD; Sassone PA1e). Mint N.H. with bottom selvage, double overprint occurs on the right pair, mostly covering the top stamp but also a portion on the bottom stamp

VERY FINE. PROBABLY A UNIQUE BLOCK WITH THE DOUBLE OVERPRINT. AN IMPORTANT AIR POST AND ZANTE RARITY.

The double overprint is not listed in Scott or Michel. Sassone lists the double oveprint, one shifted well to the top (as the bottom right stamp is). They also note only one example is known (which may be referring to this block). The certificate states no other blocks with the double overprint are recorded and that the block is probably unique.

Sassone €6,500. With 2022 Brunel certificate.
