French Colonies Balance of a Substantial Collection. In three European albums, mostly unused and goes to about 1941, representation from all colonies and offices abroad, includes General Issues, Andorra, and Monaco, plus there are areas not usually seen in French Colonies collections such as Memel and Saar, and Togo contains some British and German issues, there is also material on stockpages and lot cards that either duplicated what was in the albums or had not yet been mounted, loaded with stamps cataloguing $100.00-$500.00 each, some higher, plus better unused sets from the turn-of-the-century, in addition to the straightforward stamps, the collection is nicely augmented with multiples, varieties, covers, and a few proofs & essays, some colonies have specialization, for example the Somali Coast has the 1894 25fr and 50fr with "S" or "O" overprints, 1902 5c and 10c Surcharged triangle stamps in blocks of six showing the tete-beche orientation, and the 1902 Pictorials have numerous imperforate, proofs, and inverted centers (including the three high values with inverted center to Berlin that went through the mails), condition is somewhat mixed as expected, though there are many Fine-Very Fine stamps (including on the higher valued stamps), better overprints are usually signed by French experts or have certificates, overall a desirable collection filled with saleable material
