Postcards - United States. Hoard of probably 5,000 or more, vast majority pre-1915, including pioneer, private mailing cards, undivided backs, and divided backs, some from later periods (these usually have better themes or other premiums), we note Tuck's, hold-to-light, foldout, leather, real photos, and other better types, wide range of themes, including expositions, advertising, holidays (including early Christmas and Halloween), autos, baseball, phonographs, movie stars such as Charlie Chaplin, Shirley Temple, and Marilyn Monroe, Abraham Lincoln, many George Washington, patriotic, comical (including risque), etc., the collector was particularly fond of New York City, and there are many relating to the Statue of Liberty and other famous landmarks, some sets, both unused and used, most of the used are domestic, but there are a fair number to Europe, many were bought individually in the $10.00-$50.00 range, with some higher, so this is definitively not your run-of-the-mill postcard accumulation, but rather a highly desirable group that was selected over many decades by an individual with a wide range of interests

Over 2,500, mint and used, 1890s through World War II, vast majority pre-1930 and many pre-1910, much is Europe, but other areas represented including Japan, wide range of subjects, with Expositions, Fairs, Ships (including at least ten with the Titanic), Automobiles, Advertising, Propaganda, Wars and Conflicts, including the Russo-Japan War, many World War I, better World War II, such as anti-Hitler and several Mussolini, including the famous photo of him hanged after he was killed, some real photos, many multicolored, several very elaborate, such as pull-outs and embossed, the used has some better usages (especially the World War I cards), a number with special labels or cancels related to the event on the postcards, majority Fine-Very Fine, definitely not your everyday group of postcards
