Position 43L3, double frameline at right, unusually choice centering, light face-free double-circle datestamp, deep shade, Very Fine and choice, the double frameline at one side is very desirable, it comes from the 20 positions in columns 3 and 4 of the left pane, where extra framelines were engraved stamp by stamp between the two vertical columns (a similar ruled line was engraved between columns 7 and 8)

Position 28R3, major double transfer, unusually choice centering, small part of handstamped cancel at upper left leaves entire design visible, trivial small thin spot, Extremely Fine appearance, this noteworthy double transfer from Plate 3 is inexplicably omitted from the Scott U.S. Specialized listing for No. 36B

12c Black, Plate 3 (36B). Group of 16 plated positions from Plate 3 Left showing the distinctive double framelines at one side (columns 3-4) and extra ruled line between stamps (columns 7-8), includes one unused (no gum), 9 used singles and 3 used pairs -- Positions 23, 33, 44, 54, 64/74, 84, 93, and 47, 57, 58, 68-69, 87/97, 88 (all Left) -- some with red or blue cancels, one Boston "Paid", we did not dip every stamp, but a few minor faults should be expected, one vertical pair has a faulty corner, Fine-Very Fine or similar appearance, the Scott value quoted here includes premium for listed "double frameline" variety and colored cancels, but the stamps with extra ruled line have no Scott premium

Full clear strike of red numeral "6" (or 9 or part of 19) cancel, Fine, a very unusual numeral cancellation which undoubtedly was a foreign-mail credit marking, Scott value $315.00 with premium for a more typical red numeral cancel

12c Black, Plate 3 (36B). 15 singles and two pairs selected for unusual and colored cancellations, colors include red, magenta, blue, brown and greenish (dull olive), single and pair with numerals ("3" integral credit, "19" credit"), N.Y. Ocean Mail, targets, segmented grids, one very unusual design which invites guesses as to what it represents, a few have added value as double frameline or transfer varieties, faults to be expected but solid Fine exhibition-quality appearance, it is difficult to overstate the time and patience necessary to assemble a large group of Scott 36B stamps with non-standard cancels, Scott value $5,765.00 as basic stamps with cancel and double frameline premiums
