Large margins to just clear, some toning at bottom, pen strokes have been expertly removed, Very Fine appearance, an extremely rare trial color proof of the 5c 1856 Issue in Black, we record only three examples of the 5c 1856 Issue trial color plate proof in Black--one has the ruled pen lines (Sale 948, lot 155), one does not (Sale 948, lot 156), and this example has the pen lines removed--ex Finkelburg, Scott value $5,000.00
