6c-24c 1918-23 Air Post (C1-C6). Panes of 100 (complete sheet of C3), C1-C2 with top plate no. block of six and side arrow selvage, C3 with top double plate no. 8493/8492 block of twelve and side arrow selvage, C4-C6 with two plate no. blocks of six, centering is unusually nice nearly throughout, individual condition as follows: C1 -- hinged in selvage including in plate block, some top selvage reinforcement barely affects the gum on a couple top row stamps, balance Mint N.H., oxidation in top row; C2 -- hinged in selvage including in plate block, some reinforcement of selvage at top, four top row stamps lightly hinged, balance Mint N.H.; C3 -- hinged in gummed selvage not affecting plate block, reinforcement in ungummed selvage above plate block (probably knocks it out of Mint N.H. category), two bottom row stamps slight disturbance, balance Mint N.H.; C4 -- Mint N.H.; C5 -- hinged in selvage not affecting plate blocks, two stamps h.r., balance Mint N.H. including plate blocks, small perf fault in bottom plate block selvage; C6 -- three stamps hinged in top right block, not affecting plate blocks which are Mint N.H., balance Mint N.H., wrinkling at edge of selvage not affecting plate blocks, top right stamp small margin flawVERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE AND DESIRABLE SET OF THE 1918 AND 1923 AIR POST ISSUES IN POST OFFICE SHEETS. THIS IS THE FIRST SET WE HAVE OFFERED SINCE 1999.
This is an extremely difficult set to duplicate, as collector demand for plate blocks and choice Mint N.H. singles has resulted in nearly all complete panes and sheets being broken up over the years. Scott value approximately $69,700.00 as plate blocks (counting C3 as hinged) and singles

Each of the first four Special Delivery Issues (E1-E4) are extremely rare in plate block form. We believe the 1885 Issue, Scott E1, is the rarest of the group with perhaps 5-7 known (including one pane).
