Sale 1239, Lot 673, International StampsCANADA, 1959, 5c Seaway Invert (387a; SG 513a). Mint N.H. with left selvage, beautifully centered and extraordinarily fresh

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE RARE AND DESIRABLE CANADA SEAWAY INVERT.

Approximately 200 unused St. Lawrence Seaway inverts are in private hands. A large percentage of these have some sort of gum malady -- some were subsequently hinged, and many have fingerprints or other disturbance due to poor handling from the non-collecting public, who purchased them at post office counters. To find a perfect copy with pristine gum, such as the example offered here, is truly remarkable.

With 1981 and 2006 P.F. certificates. Scott $9,500.00. SG £9,000. Unitrade C$12,500.00
