EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE 15-CENT 1902 ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE.
This is the only Mint N.H. plate block we have offered since at least 1993. Ex "Silver Lake". With 1997 P.F. certificate

We have offered only four other plate blocks of Scott 310 since 2000. None was offered in our sales of the "MLG" or "Saddleback" collections.
EXTREMELY FINE. A PHENOMENAL PLATE BLOCK OF THE 50-CENT 1909 DOUBLE-LINE WATERMARKED WASHINGTON ISSUE.
Scott 341 was produced from only one plate, number 4956, which had plate number blocks at top and bottom. Lewis Kaufman records only six full top and four bottom plate blocks available to collectors. There is another top position in the Miller collection owned by The New York Public Library. This has the widest selvage of any of the bottom plate blocks we have encountered.

Lewis Kaufman records about a dozen plate blocks, including four from the top, seven from the left and one from the right position. A pane of 100 is also known with plate blocks at left and bottom.

Most plate blocks of this issue tend to have mixed centering. The example offered here is centered better than most.

Scott 423 was printed from a single plate, which had plate numbers at top and bottom. This is one of the rarest of the Washington-Franklin Issue plate blocks. Lewis Kaufman records nine top and two bottom plate blocks. This is the first we have offered since 2015.
