BRITISH HONDURAS, 1888, 3c on 3d Brown, Perf 12-1/2 (19; SG 24). Better centering than typically encountered, oval grid cancel, small crease at top rightFINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE KEY RARITY OF BRITISH HONDURAS. ONLY ONE SHEET OF SIXTY STAMPS WAS PRINTED.
This rarity was created when one sheet of the 3p perf 12-1/2 was inadvertently included among perf 14 sheets for surcharging. Far fewer than the sixty printed survive today and all used examples we have sold have had faults to some degree.
