VERY FINE. A SCARCE MULTIPLE OF THE 4-CENT BROWN OVERPRINT CONTAINING THIRTEEN NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLES. SELDOM ENCOUNTERED IN BLOCKS OF THIS SIZE.

EXTREMELY FINE. A MAGNIFICENT ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1851 6-PENCE ON LAID PAPER. LIKELY THE FINEST EXAMPLE IN EXISTENCE.
The 1851 6p Prince Albert issue on laid paper is one of Canada's rarest and most difficult stamps to obtain in unused condition. Very few unused examples exist, and even fewer have any portion of original gum. Completely sound unused examples are of even greater rarity. In fact, a thorough review of past famous name sales of important Canadian stamps reveals no other example that competes with this remarkable stamp.
