This is one of the rarest of all Match & Medicine stamps printed on experimental silk paper. Of the five recorded in the Aldrich book, four are listed as faulty and three are listed with centering worse than Fine.
EXTREMELY FINE. A SPECTACULAR EXAMPLE OF THE D. JAYNE & SON ONE-CENT BLUE IMPERFORATE ISSUE ON SILK PAPER - CONTAINING THE FULL IMPRINT IN THE BOTTOM MARGIN.
The Aldrich census records just seventeen examples. We are aware of no other copy with margins this large and this is likely the sole example with an imprint.
