VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A HIGHLY DESIRABLE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 3-CENT IMPERFORATE PLAYING CARDS ISSUE.
A review using Power Search reveals that this is only the second unused example of this stamp we have offered in our sales going back to 1993 and in our Rarities sales since 1966. We are aware of one other, offered in the Cunliffe collection in 2008. It seems inevitable that the Scott Catalogue will begin to price First thru Third Issue unused Revenues. In that event, the catalogue value for an unused 3c Playing Cards Imperforate stamp will be far greater than that of a used example.
With 1954 letter from Philip Ward, Jr. and with 2016 P.F. certificate
FINE. ONLY THE SECOND RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT AGREEMENT BISECTED AND USED AS A 2-CENT STAMP.
The other example was in the Robert Cunliffe collection. It became the listing copy in Scott when it was sold in 2008.
