VERY FINE. AN IMPORTANT SHOWPIECE MULTIPLE OF THE "RAINBOW" COLOR TRIAL WITH EXPERIMENTAL CANCEL REMOVAL BY PERKINS, BACON & CO.

Combinations of tartaric, turpentine, creosote and prussic (hydrogen cyanide) acids were used in the attempted removals. This particular example was treated with chlorate of lime (causing erosion of stamps), permanganate of potash and turpentine.
