Paid 7 Jun. 17" (1863) credit datestamp, red boxed "Aachen Franco" transit datestamp (Jun. 30), right stamp just trimmed at right from placement at edge of cover, few tiny edge tears clear of stamps, otherwise Very Fine, carried by Wells, Fargo & Co. from San Francisco to New York and placed into the mails there, 10c entire paid required transcontinental postage on express mail, 30c in stamps overpaid the 28c Prussian Closed Mail rate, according to Nick Kirke's census of New York foreign mail exchange office cancellations, this is an 1863 use, which fits with sailing of Cunard Persia
