Route agent's blue circular datestamp and "10" in circle rate handstamp perfectly struck on blue folded letter from Rochester to New York City, accompanied by an Apr. 1849 folded letter from Buffalo to Boston with same strike in red (dateless), matching "10" rate and red Western Hotel forwarder's handstamp, Very Fine, a beautiful pair of covers, there was no "Albany & Buffalo" railroad, but this marking was used on the lines serving Rochester, Buffalo and Albany, ex Hahn, with 2011 P.F. certificates

Straightline handstamp (without hyphen) struck in red on five 1838-41 folded letters/covers and in blue with "V" in circle rate handstamp on 1848 folded letter, all carried between upstate New York towns, two with pencil markings applied by agents, usual file folds, all Very Fine strikes, scarce early railroad markings (the 1838 is based on a pencil notation, but it would be very early if correct), ex Hahn, also includes an additional cover to Boston with red "U.S. Express Mail N. York" route agent's circular datestamp
