5c-10c Lithograph Issues, Cover Balance (1, 4, 5). Five covers, first three with 5c Green, Stone 1-2 (1), including one with a pair, another with a blue town cancel, also a pair of 5c Blue, Stone 3 (4) on cover (1995 C.S.A. certificate), finally 10c Rose (5) with large margins to ample, light corner crease at bottom left and slight gum toning along left edge, tied by blue Lynchburg Va. circular datestamp with unclear date but August 20, 1862 docketing at top, on oatmeal cover to Massies Mills Va., minor cover staining at left, appears Very Fine, overall the group with a few minor cover or stamp flaws but Very Fine appearance

5c Typograph Issues, Cover Balance (6-7). Seven covers, six are 10c uses with a pair or two singles, most interesting is a use from Austin Tex., one cover is a single 5c use (scarcer pre-July 1, 1862 use), one with a nice blue boot and shoe dealer corner card (speckled toning), one pair with huge sheet margin, one with green town cancel, a few flaws, overall Fine

10c-20c Engraved Issues, Cover Balance (11-13). Seven covers, 10c with interesting range of uses including strip of three on one, red postmarks on two, a few minor faults or slight toning but all at least appear Very Fine, one with 20c Green (13), large margins to just in at top, tied by "Oglethorpe Ga. Oct. 4" circular datestamp on oatmeal cover to Americus Ga., cover nicked at bottom right and at top right just into datestamp, appears Fine

Non-Confederate literature from the "Clovis" collection in five boxes, wide range of books highlighted by both volumes of Richard Winter's Understanding Transatlantic Mails, (the first volume is scarce and sought-after), many other better volumes including hardbound Hill 5c 1856-60 book (scarce with dealer prices in the $200 range), Caspary U.S., Brookman three volumes, Rohloff Waterbury cancels, Helbock post offices series, Hubbard and Winter North Atlantic Mail Sailings, 1851 Sesquicentennial and many others, overall nice condition and a useful library
