Aug. 16" circular datestamp on back of Magnus multicolored cover depicting a Union bugler at camp outside Washington, titled "No. 1 Movement of the Army from Washington to Richmond", addressed to Providence R.I., accompanied by original enclosure, a Magnus multicolored "Camp Scene" stationery written by Joseph A. Fowler to his mother, contents include description of a soldier who was run over by a cannon wheel and killed, cover with inconsequential small toned spots

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE MAGNUS COVER WITH AN EQUALLY RARE MAGNUS ENCLOSURE.

The Bischel catalog lists a different example of this cover design and states it is unique. (Nutmeg Sale, lot 1253). The camp scene on the letter is unlisted in Bischel. Power Search did not locate another example of either design
