EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE $30.00 "SERIES 1940" STOCK TRANSFER.
We doubt whether more than one or two others exist in unused condition. This is the only example contained in Power Search or our other digital records. We did offer an unusual imperforate proof, serial no. 000, in our Sale 992.
Ex Buford and "Scarsdale". With 2002 P.F. certificate
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE $1,000.00 SERIES 1941 STOCK TRANSFER, CANCELLED SOLELY BY THE BLUE HANDSTAMP. A MARVELOUS CONDITION RARITY.
Most examples of this issue have either cut or perfin cancels. The example offered here, with just the blue handstamp cancel, is truly rare. The adjoining position, serial no. 861, similarly cancelled but not as well-centered, was offered in our 2015 Curtis Collection sale.
Ex Buford and "Scarsdale". With 2002 P.F. certificate.
VERY FINE. THE $500.00 SERIES 1942 STOCK TRANSFER IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL STOCK TRANSFER STAMPS. PERHAPS 8-10 EXIST, AND VIRTUALLY ALL HAVE PERF CANCELS.
This rare issue was missing from the Floyd, DePriest, Wampler and Tolman collections. A review using Power Search and our digital records found the following serial nos.: 1463, 1464, 1469, 1470, 1483, 1546 and 1747. All except 1546 have perf cancels (it does have two small staple holes).
