VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE DR. G. W. SWETT 4-CENT PERFORATED ISSUE ON WATERMARKED PAPER.
The Aldrich book records only 19 examples, of which less than five are sound. The "Scarsdale" copy, offered as sound, was later determined to have small thin spots.
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE 4-CENT DR. G. W. SWETT PERF AND DIE CUT ISSUE ON WATERMARKED PAPER. ONLY THREE ARE REPORTED TO BE SOUND.
The Aldrich book records a total of 9 copies, of which at least six are faulty.
Ex Tolman. Small purple "L.R." backstamp. Signed E. Stern. With 2007 P.F. certificate
EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE RARE GEORGE TALCOTT 4-CENT ON PINK PAPER. ONLY SIX ARE RECORDED.
At least four of the six copies recorded in the Aldrich book are faulty. This is the only example we have offered since keeping computerized records, and has far better centering than the two others we were able to locate in our digital records.
Ex Tolman and "Scarsdale". Small "D. & Co." backstamp. With 2012 P.F. certificate as sound (VF 80)
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A DESIRABLE AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT UNITED STATES PROPRIETARY MEDICINE COMPANY ISSUE ON ORANGE RED WRAPPER.
Only 16 are recorded in the Aldrich book, of which 10 are reported as faulty. Given the nature of this paper, its size and use, we would be surprised if there were truly six examples that are completely sound. "G.S.D." backstamp
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THE ONE-CENT UNITED STATES PROPRIETARY MEDICINE COMPANY ISSUE ON ORANGE RED SILK PAPER IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL PRIVATE DIE MEDICINE STAMPS. ONLY THREE ARE RECORDED.
Only three examples on silk paper are recorded in the Aldrich book. The book notes one is sound, but the three we have been able to locate all have faults. The example offered here is the most presentable of the three.
Ex Joyce and offered to the market for the first time since 1991
