Sale 1133, Lot 535, Postal Stationery12c Plum on White entire, Die 40 (U93; UPSS 229). Size 21, knife 98, watermark 2, cancelled by "San Francisco Cal. Jul. 13" duplex datestamp and cancel, blue 1875 company double-circle datestamp, addressed to Sacramento Cal. and paying four-times the 3c rate, pencil docketing at left indicating conveyance of stock proxies, backflap tear, Very Fine and exceedingly scarce used example of this high-value entire, illustrated in a 1992 Linn's article by Richard B. Graham (article included), with 2004 A.P.S. certificate as the earliest documented use, UPSS value $500.00

In an album and stockbook, consists of about 90 better items, mostly unused, cataloguing in the $100.00-$500.00 range, plus there are a few that catalogue even higher (U33, W25 used, U110, U134 and U168) that are either cut small or have small faults, very little duplication, some full corners, majority Very Fine, not counting the five items listed above, the Scott Retail should easily exceed $15,000.00
