Sale 1123, Lot 561, Post Office Department15c Post Office (O53). Top left corner imprint and plate no. 66 block of 12, original gum, h.r. reinforcing some perf separations, intense shade, selvage crease above pos. 1, Fine, a very scarce plate block, Power Search does not list even one other, for some reason Scott lists this as a plate block of 14 (which is the correct format for the 3c plate block which Scott lists as a block of 12), in any event the correct size for this is a block of 12

VERY FINE AND RARE. ONLY FOUR COVERS HAVE BEEN RECORDED WITH THE 15-CENT POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT.

The 15c stamp pays the five-times 3c domestic rate. Robert Markovits recorded only four covers in total (2004 Bennett sale). This cover with a sound and fresh stamp is exceptional
