EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A TRULY PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THE 1928 10-FRANC "ILE DE FRANCE" SURCHARGE. EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES IN EXISTENCE.

These stamps were prepared for use on the catapult service on the "Ile de France" as it approached New York. Only 2,700 were produced with narrow margins which caused many designs to be touched by the perforations.

Ex Kamil. Signed Pfenninger and Champion. With 1993 Behr certificate. Yvert €5,000
