EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1851 3-CENT DULL RED TYPE I IMPERFORATE, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED GEM 100 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE POSSIBLE.
?The SMQ value for Scott 26 in Mint N.H. Superb 98 grade is a six-times multiple of the same grade in hinged condition. We have offered only two Mint N.H. high-grade examples since 2004.
With 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Mint NH Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ as Mint NH; unpriced above the grade of 98, SMQ $2,550.00 as 98 hinged). This is the highest grade possible on the grading chart, and only one other has achieved it.
