5c Red Brown (1). Huge margins, including right sheet margin and parts of adjoining stamps at top and bottom, bright shade, unobtrusive strike of red grid cancelEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E.
With 2008 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo; SMQ $3,350.00 as 98). Only two have graded higher and one other shares this grade. The other with this grade was offered in our Sale 997 and does not have a sheet margin.

Huge margins all around, including part of adjoining stamp at top, remarkably detailed impression showing every detail of the engraving, nicely complemented by neat strike of red New York square grid cancelEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE. A STAMP OF REMARKABLE FRESHNESS AND BEAUTY, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E.
With 2004 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $6,400.00). Only seven others share this grade, and only three have graded higher (all at 98J). This statistic has not changed since 2009.

Steam Boat marking on a 5c 1847 cover, with 1982 P.F. certificate
