Sale Number 992, Lot Number 2279, 1890-93 Issue (Scott 219-229)30c Black (228), 30c Black (228)30c Black (228). Mint N.H., virtually perfect centering with balanced margins all around, deep shade

EXTREMELY FINE. A MAGNIFICENT MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1890 ISSUE.

In our experience the 30c 1890 is the second most difficult of the 1890 Small Bank Note Issue to obtain in choice Mint N.H. condition (the 90c is somewhat more challenging). The few examples graded 95 or better have brought thousands of dollars at auction. This balanced and essentially perfectly-centered stamp is worth its full SMQ value, in our opinion.

With 2002 P.F. and 2009 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90; SMQ $2,800.00).
