Sale 997, Lot 6089, 1922-29 Issues (Scott 551-573)10c Orange, Imperforate Pair (562b). Block, unused (no gum) as are all known examples, large even margins all around, vibrant color

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE BLOCK OF THE 10-CENT 1923 IMPERFORATE.

According to United States Stamps 1922-26 by Gary Griffith, noted dealer Philip Ward purchased a pane in 1925 in Oklahoma. Large areas were marked for destruction with a blue crayon -- examples such as the block offered here, not defaced by the blue crayon, are scarce.
