Sale 997, Lot 5360, 1861-66 Issue (Scott 71-78)90c Blue (72). Block of twelve (4 x 3), lightly cancelled by multiple strikes of Boston large "Paid" grid, bottom right small corner crease, few short perfs and some negligible toning specks

VERY GOOD-FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE LARGE MULTIPLE OF THE 1861 90-CENT BLUE -- VERY SUITABLE FOR EXHIBITION.

The $10.80 total postage represented by this block presumably paid a multiple foreign-mail rate on a heavy parcel.

From our 1990 Rarities of the World Sale. With 1989 P.F. certificate that does not mention any flaws. Scott Retail as used blocks and pairs
