Only one larger block is reported. Ex Newbury and Wickersham
EXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF THE FINEST LARGE BLOCKS OF THE 1859 ONE-PESO FIRST ISSUE IN EXISTENCE.
Ex Newbury (accompanied by his album page) and Londono
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE ONLY USED MULTIPLE OF THE ONE-PESO 1859 FIRST ISSUE LARGER THAN A PAIR.
IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY OTHER COVERS BEARING THE ONE-PESO 1859 FIRST ISSUE, THIS ARTIFACT ASSUMES A ROLE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE IN COLOMBIAN PHILATELY AND POSTAL HISTORY. ONE MIGHT SAY ITS CONDITION ADDS CHARACTER.
Discovered only a few years ago, this remarkable judicial wrapper is the only known example of the One-peso on cover (and one of two covers bearing the 2-1/2-centavos). It is in the same condition as found, but it deserves the attention of a skilled restorer, who can prevent further erosion and possibly bring the stamps' colors back to life.
