VERY FINE. THE ONLY RECORDED 4-CENT PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY.

This is the only progressive state of the 4c 1902 die listed in Scott, and this impression is reported to be the only one known.

Ex Chesapeake. The current Scott value is far below the $3,000-4,000 realizations for other similar essays in Shreve's sale of the Brody collection.

Ex Brody. Scott Catalogue for some reason lists the three separately rather than as a unit.

There are only two known die essays for the 50c 1902 Issue. Each is unique. Ex Chesapeake.
