Sale 869, Lot 3042, 1875 Reprint of 1857-60 Issue3c Scarlet, Reprint (41). Without gum as issued, perfectly centered with wide balanced margins all around, intense color

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1857 REPRINT IN THE FINEST ATTAINABLE CONDITION. PHENOMENALLY WIDE MARGINS AND EXTRAORDINARY CENTERING FOR THE REPRINT.

This particular value of the 1857-60 Reprint set typically has perforations touching one or two sides. This stamp, with its enormous margins and brilliant color, is an incredible condition rarity.

To determine the relative quality of this stamp, we examined our Levi records and numerous past auction catalogues for examples in comparable condition. Only one or two others rival this magnificent copy.
