U.S. Con. Genl. Shanghai Oct. 21" circular datestamp on 1869 folded cover to New York City, neatly addressed and endorsed "Ship Letter pr. Str. America from Yokohama", carried via branch-line steamer of Pacific Mail Steamship Co. to Yokohama, then via main-line steamer Japan to San Francisco, arriving Nov. 22
