EXTREMELY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED USAGE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE FROM SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.
The cover is addressed to "P.M. Bell, City of Austin Texas". According to United States 1847 Issue: A Cover Census by Thomas J. Alexander, Texas received 7,900 5c stamps. Only six covers are recorded used from any Texas town. Due to the distance between towns in Texas, there was probably little demand for the 5c stamps.
VERY FINE. A COLORFUL AND EXTREMELY SCARCE USAGE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ORANGE BROWN TO TRIESTE.
Ex Hart and Kapiloff.

Ex Hollowbush, Pope and Kapiloff. With 1985 P.F. certificate.
