straightline, faint toned spot from wax seal on back, Very Fine appearance, very unusual Baltimore waterway usage -- although a number of 1847 Issue "Steam" covers routed thru Baltimore are known, this one is unusual because it is addressed to Fort McHenry and was essentially treated as a drop-rate letter without the post office datestamp
