VERY FINE AND PROBABLY UNIQUE. THIS ESSAY IS NOT LISTED IN SCOTT OR BRAZER.
The Scott catalogue is missing one listing for the Columbia vignette essays. The first listing (147-E1A) is for the vignette portrait only. The second listing (147-E1B) is for the frame with the vignette cut to shape and mounted in place. The compilers of the catalogue may have been unaware of the existence of an essay showing the frame only. The catalogue should have three listings for the unengraved labels design: first for vignette, second for frame, and third for frame with vignette mounted in place.
We have given this the same catalogue value as the other Scott listings
