The two sets of three linked ovals within the hollow "C" are believed to be symbols of the Odd Fellow's Masonic order. This handstamp is known on unused envelopes, indicating provisional usage. It is scarce as a handstamped "Paid" and is very rare used as a cancellation on stamps.
