Berford & Co.'s Express, 10c Violet (11L3). Margins to barely touching, uncanceled, on incoming cover to Gloucester Mass., red oval "Forwarded By Loring Brothers & Co. Valparaiso", "Steamship 10" hs, trivial soiling, Fine and rare usage, with 1994 P.F. certificate stating genuine stamp but declining opinion as to whether it originated on this cover; the Berford adhesives are seldom found canceled or tied to their covers, and, therefore, are accepted as originating on cover when used in the proper period on mail for which they were intended
