Position 15, huge margins on strongly blued paper including portion of adjoining stamp at top, bottom left corner clipped clear of design, small margin tear at top left, without pen cancel and tied by red grid, matching "Paid" in arc and "New-York 5cts. 20 Mar." (1847) circular datestamp on buff envelope to Philadelphia Pa., docketed at left, envelope paper has darkened but stamp is unaffected, Very Fine and scarce, the last printing of the New York provisional was furnished on January 7, 1847, when 100 sheets were delivered, most of the stamps on Gray paper (Scott 9X3) and Blue paper (Scott 9X2) likely come from this last printing, ex Dr. Robertson and from our 1997 Rarities sale, with 1976 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail $5,750.00
