VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE LARGE MULTIPLE OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES 10-CENT DIE A PERFORATED ISSUE. THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE SECOND LARGEST BLOCK EXTANT.

A small quantity of Confederate 10c Engraved stamps (11-12) was perforated using a British perforating machine brought through the blockade. The experiment was quickly abandoned. The largest multiple we record is an irregular block of 40 offered in our Sale 1104 (originally a block of 98).
